Submitted by slittle on Mon, 26/09/2011 - 10:38

The Editorial Board of the British Journal of Occupational Therapy will publish a special issue in winter 2012/13 on the topic of ‘Participation in Occupations Across the Lifespan’. This special issue will provide a forum to present contemporary research about participation patterns and the measurement of participation for specific populations. As well, we will welcome critical analysis of the meaning and dimensions of participation and debate relating to the relationship between participation in occupations and health and wellbeing. Manuscripts on occupational therapy intervention to enhance participation are of particular interest.

The guest editors of the special issue will be Professor Mary Law of McMaster University, Canada, and a member of the British Journal of Occupational Therapy’s International Advisory Board.  Submissions are welcome within any of the categories published in the author’s guide.  Priority will be given to research manuscripts that have a direct impact on practice or policy. Manuscripts should be submitted in the normal manner at Manuscript Central and will be considered for publication using the journal’s usual peer review process.   Authors should indicate clearly in their covering letter and at the end of the abstract that they wish their submission to be considered for inclusion in the Participation special issue.  The deadline for submissions is 20 January 2012.
