Changing lives, changing practice: Occupational therapy in social work, enabling independent living in Scotland
A wide range of recruitment and retention initiatives should be considered for OTs in Scotland’s social work departments, according to a new COT report.
The report recommended more incentives should be considered for newly qualified staff, while more practice placements would encourage OTs to consider the sector. The report also recommended a review of differing pay and conditions for health and social care staff who work in the same team, and for a clear framework for career progression.
