Occupational therapy support staff are essential to the delivery of occupational therapy services.  To ensure you are practising within the scope of your profession, and with the evidence base to meet the needs of your service users, become a member of BAOT.

Who is eligible to become an associate member?

All occupational therapy support workers and technical instructors are welcome to join BAOT/COT as associate members. As a member, you can access a wide range of occupational therapy professional resources for every stage of your career journey.  If you are supervised in your work by a registered occupational therapist and engaged in work within the recognised definition of occupational therapy, you are eligible to join as an associate member.

BAOT/COT associate membership is fantastic value and in your first year of membership you will instantly receive a 25% discount meaning you’ll pay only £9.20 per month. BAOT Associate membership includes UNISON membership along with the full range of member benefits. If you are already a UNISON member alone, you could be paying between £9.70 and £14 per month!

Join or start a local group for OT support staff and technicians. Make your voice heard by becoming an associate member representative on your regional committee, associate members committee and Council.

Student membership for support workers in formal education

If you are studying the HNC in occupational therapy support or the Open University Foundation Degree in Health and Social Care you are eligible for student membership of BAOT.
