E-mail groups
BAOT/COT runs email groups which are open to BAOT members and provide a method of exchanging relevant information posing questions
Email groups are provided for:
- mental health strategic leads in the UK
- occupational therapists in Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) with an interest in mental health
- occupational therapist with an interest in the new roles (Approved Mental Health Professional and Approved Clinician) under the Mental Health Act 2007 (England and Wales)

COT Specialist Section - Mental health
The College has a Specialist Section which provides services for occupational therapists who work in mental health.
These services include a regular magazine, study events, conferences and contributions to consultations.

The Research Centre for Occupation and Mental health
RCOMH has been set up in response to Recovering Ordinary Lives which tasked occupational therapy researchers to develop and take the lead in coordinated programmes of research. RCOMH’s mission statement is to develop world class research in occupation and mental health to influence best practice. It has six work streams:
- arts and creativity
- occupation, mental health and boredom
- occupation and mental health in forensic and prison services
- occupation and older people’s mental health
- occupation and working with people with psychosis living in the community
- work, mental health and well being
RCOMH also run research clinics and an excellent newsletter called The Bridge which can be signed up for at www.yorksj.ac.uk/rcomh
