Members of BAOT/COT are entitled to a number of additional library services. These include:

Alerts and hOT topics

The library alert service is a biweekly publication in PDF format, on or around the 13th and 27th of each month. It provides generic information from websites of interest to occupational therapists from the preceding 2 weeks.

The hOT topics are overviews of useful articles, books, reports, government documents and websites pertaining to a particular topic of interest to occupational therapists and of current managerial and clinical interest. Past hOT topics have featured bathing and toileting, head/brain injury, mental health, older people and wheelchairs.

Literature searches

Library staff can carry out a literature search of various databases including CINAHL, AMED, PsycINFO, HMIC, OTSearch, OTDbase and Cochrane on your chosen topic. We will provide you with a list of references and abstracts. This service is free. Please note that the library can only accept one search request at a time.
