Theses and Reports Collection
The Theses Collection was begun in 1979 with the first College Fellowships (FCOT). These were originally established to enable occupational therapists to pursue higher research into occupational therapy when they could not be accepted onto University courses. The collection now holds over 400 items and has grown into the national collection of unpublished dissertations and work-based, evaluative reports produced by occupational therapists. As such it forms an important part of the 'grey literature' of the profession in the United Kingdom.
The diverse titles, subjects and methods reflect the richness of the profession. There is a reference collection, which is available to all visitors to the College Library, and a loan collection, which is restricted to UK members of the British Association of Occupational Therapists (BAOT).
Assessment / Outcome Measures Reference Collection
The library has a growing collection of assessments / outcome measures and a number of textbooks on assessments / outcome measures, which are available for reference only in the library. Due to copyright restrictions these proprietary outcome measures cannot be photocopied. The College has produced Outcome measures: information pack for occupational therapy, which is a directory of assessments and outcome measures used by occupational therapists. This is available to buy. Please see the Publications section for more information.
