The College of Occupational Therapists Specialist Section - Mental Health aims to organise at least two study days per year on topics of specific interest to mental health occupational therapists. Venues across the country are used to be accessible to as many people as possible. There is a reduced attendance fee for members, depending on venue and speaker costs.

These events are focused very much on issues relevant to clinical practice, equipping occupational therapists with ideas, knowledge and skills which can be readily integrated into their workplace. Past delegates have commented that the study days were 'stimulating and motivating', and that there were 'lots of good ideas to take away'. Attendees consistently report that one of the most valued aspects of the days is the opportunity to network with others therapists in similar areas of practice.
The format of the days varies, but usually includes speaker presentations, workshops, and opportunities to informally discuss experiences and ideas.
