Final report from the Allied Health Professions Palliative Care Project Team
This project was funded by the New Opportunities Fund between 2002-2004 to investigate the existing services of four of the allied health professions to patients with cancer related palliative care needs.
The aims of the project were to identify:
- The current AHP service level into oncology and palliative care services in the West of Scotland.
- The needs of patients receiving oncology and palliative care services from AHPs
- The education and service delivery needs of AHPs.
The report documents the findings from five separate pieces of research and provides recommendations to guide future development of these services. Many of these findings will be relevant to allied health professional services across the UK.
