The Association of Occupational Therapists in Mental Health (AOTMH) was formed in 1994 as a Specialist Section of the College of Occupational Therapists. It became a branch of the College of Occupational Therapists in 2006 and is now know as the College of Occupational Therapists Specialist Section – Mental Health.
The COT Specialist Section – Mental Health aims to promote and develop occupational services in all areas of mental health by providing support, advice and encouragement to those working as occupational therapists or who are associated with occupational therapy.
- We emphasise a holistic approach towards clients with mental health problems.
- We exchange, share and disseminate information via magazine, study days and informal networks.
- We provide a variety of continuing professional development opportunities for occupational therapists in mental health practice.
