Taking the Lead - Delivering Best Practice

The Specialist Section of the College of Occupational Therapists for occupational therapy staff who work with older people, is a dedicated organisation of occupational therapy staff, who are passionate about older people's independence, well-being and choice.
We provide professional and clinical information on all aspects of occupational therapy with older people.

Most occupational therapists work with older people at some point in their career. We have a responsibility to keep abreast of relevant professional, practice, policy and legislative developments and issues.

The Specialist Section - Older People draws occupational therapy staff from both physical and mental health services for older people.

Our members work in many settings including hospitals, day care, intermediate care, care homes, social care, primary care teams and research and education.

If you are an occupational therapist or support worker with an interest in older people, then our Specialist Section will assist in meeting your professional learning and development needs, as well as enabling you to share best practice.
