Care Homes Network
The Specialist Section - Older People: has a Network for occupational therapy staff working in care homes for older people. Membership is open to any Specialist Section - Older People member. You may actually be based in a care home or provide an in-reach service - perhaps as a member of a community team.
After being officially voted in at the Annual General Meeting November 2006 as Care Homes Clinical Forum Lead, Rosemary Bennett is in the process of establishing a database of members. There have been several contacts from members which have been very encouraging and include those who work and live as far apart as London to Limerick. There have been several students who have made contact wanting to know about work in Care Homes to help them with their studies.
If you interested in belonging to this group then please do contact the Specialist Section Membership Administration Service and ask for a Care Homes Forum Application Form.
Activity provision: benchmarking good practice in care homes
This document, which has been developed in partnership between COT and NAPA, is aimed at care home providers, managers and commissioners, and is also available to residents, their families and friends, and inspectors. It offers a framework of person-centred quality indicators and outcome measures to inform, guide and encourage those who are responsible for and take part in managing, developing, providing, purchasing and inspecting activity provision within care homes. It also provides a guide for inspectors on good practice in activity provision.
