Val Killala has been forum lead since December 2006. Val had a recent change of post in April 2008 which involved moving home and cities. Her new contact email is: Valerie.Killala@erypct.nhs.uk
We are delighted to announce that Cynthis Murphy has been elected as co-clinical forum lead. Cynthia’s contact email is: Cynthia.Murphy@wdpct.nhs.uk
The clinical forum provides an information exchange for all those practitioners and interested parties alike, working in this area, providing an ongoing resource for all members. I am hoping to start an electronic journal club, for those members who may be interested in the critique of articles of interest pertinent to intermediate care. One example could be: 'exploring the evidence base for intermediate care service provision.'
Due to the Acute / Emergency Care clinical forum disbanding, it will not be possible to work in tandem. However, 'The NHS consultation good practice guidance for staff working with acutely ill patients' consultation document is of relevance as many practitioners in intermediate care teams also work in A&E departments and Rapid Response which can come under this umbrella. See the Acute/ Emergency Care Forum section for details of where to read the document and who to send your responses.
You must already be a Specialist Section - Older People member to join the Intermediate Care Clinical Forum. If you would like to join, please see the membership page.
